Numerous visitors, Greeks and foreigners, come at Spetses every September to attend the glorious celebrations of Armata", that last for a week, and are being organized in memory of the sea battle of Spetses (8 September 1822). The program of the celebration includes exhibitions of paintings, music and dance (concerts, choruses, groups of traditional dances and music etc) theatrical plays, cannon boomings and others and reaches its peak with the enactment of the sea battle and fireworks.
In August at the Scholl Anargyriou and Korgialeniou are being organized theatrical performances exhibitions, speeches etc In the island there are art halls, that especially during spring and summer time host exhibitions of art.
The visitor has also the chance of participating in many traditional celebrations and fairs that preserve their original folk character, as those of the Spetsotians Agion Stamatiou, Ioannou and Nikolaou (February the 3rd), Agias Paraskevis C26th of July), Agiou Nikolaou(December the 6th) and others.
