On your visit to the island your first feeling is that all your senses will start functioning more intensively, as in an upper level. You just start wandering around and without even realizing, your senses guide you and eventually you drift in to a beautiful journey. Spetses is the place where you experience the sweetness of the senses revival.

f we have to make a choice, then sense of olfaction is leading all of our rest senses. They are leading you and they are being led by the fragrances of the island, as they are just like stardust; It’s inside and allover the island, and seduces whoever walks on this ground.
“Isola de Spezzie” – The Island of fragrances. The island was named like that during the Venice Domination and they had a reason to! It doesn’t take an effort to understand why, just a walk around and you will feel it to your soul. A combination of savory, thyme and pine daze you as the saltiness of the deep blue makes you start looking for a way to bottle this scents and take them with you! It is heavily addictive!
What you really shouldn’t miss during your visit to Spetses, is a nice walk to the pine-forest of the island. These areas will give you the up most of the island’s scents. Different seasons of the year will grant you with different scents, each one unique: After an autumn’s rain, or with dazzling fragrant wild spring-flowers… or in the heat of the summer, mixed with the sea’s breeze.
Nevertheless, the people who are lucky to have Spetses as their homeland are mystically sharing this secret of magic fragrances and behind almost every embroidered gate there is a beautiful rainbow-tinted garden and bloomy flower-beds at the sides of the narrow pebble streets. Waiting to be discovered by you…
It is this unique feature of fragrances that makes the island so mysteriously attractive, most likely with the complete meaning of this description.
